License, insurance, and crew
Ask for the USDOT and MC numbers and verify them at fmcsa.dot.gov. Ask whether crews are W-2 employees or day labor. Ask what insurance is included by default — most movers only include $0.60/lb basic liability; you'll likely want full-value protection.
