Before the move
Get vet records and a 30-day supply of medication. Update microchip info and ID tags with your new address. Acclimate cats and small dogs to their travel crates 2 weeks ahead.
Moving day and the new home
Keep pets in one closed room or board them for the day — too much door-opening = escapes. Set up a single 'safe room' first at the new house with food, water, bed, and litter box. Same idea as our moving with kids approach. Time it with your moving day plan.
