Order of operations

Pack from least-used to most-used: top cabinets, then pantry, then everyday dishes last. Keep one pot, one pan, and 2 plates per person out for the final week.

Use double-walled dish-pack boxes for everything breakable. See our boxes & supplies guide for sizing.

Glassware, knives, and small appliances

Glassware goes in cell dividers, paper-stuffed bowls first. Knives wrap in a dish towel taped shut, then labeled SHARP. Small appliances ideally go in their original box; if not, wrap the cord around the body and pad with paper. Reference how to pack fragile items for the wrap technique.
